What does it even mean for a product to be awarded the German Design Prize?
The German Design Prize is the official design award established in Germany in 1969. Over the years, both the name and the essence of the prize have changed, and since 2006 the prize has been called the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany and is awarded for outstanding achievements in product design, communication and personalities in the design sector.
The award-winning projects truly represent a pioneering contribution to the German and international design scene – the prize represents design trends, encourages competition and contributes to the commercial success of the award-winning product. A company can only enter the competition for the prize if it has previously been awarded a national or international design prize, or if it has been nominated by the Ministry of Economic Affairs itself.

The MATACAO model, which is fundamentally different because of its asymmetry and modern touch, won the prize with its four elements:

The CHOICE model, with the largest choice of different seating elements, backrests and cushions, convinced the jury twice with its practicality and endless layout possibilities, and was awarded:
• 2016 ICONIC AWARDS – INTERIOR INNOVATION SELECTION
• 2017 GERMAN DESIGN AWARD SPECIAL
The latest to join the family of winners is the CLOOODS, a model that combines elegance, modularity and practicality. It also won two awards in 2019, namely:
• ICONIC AWARDS – INTERIOR INNOVATION WINNER
• GERMAN INNOVATION DESIGN AWARD NOMINEE
All these awards give us further encouragement and confirm that we are on the right path to creating really good products that add value to our customers and thus improve their quality of life.
